Do Some Sleuthing
What are your competitors doing that you aren't? Assessing the competition is nothing new, and it's a way to find ideas that you might not have thought of. We're not advocating taking their ideas, but you might want to see what's working for the store down the street and put your own spin on it. If they're offering, say, a discount on frozen pizza, you might do one better by offering a BOGO deal.
In this country, there's a "national day" for just about everything. Do a little research into National Donut Day, National Hot Dog Day, National Pizza Day, or anything else your store offers. Make it fun, and your members will respond.
Watch Your Consumers
What are people buying in your store? Is it dinner for one? Are they running in for milk and eggs on their way home from work? Coffee for the morning commute? Assess your consumers' buying habits, look at what's selling and when, and tailor your promotions around that. You'll delight them by offering discounts or promotions on what they buy regularly.
